Newport Public Schools

Good Morning, Newport! Today is Wednesday, September 4, the 248th day of the year; 118 days remain in 2024.

📚 Today is the first day of school for Newport Public Schools! Best of luck to the students, teachers, parents, staff, and administration on the new school year!

⚽ In our continuing efforts to expand our community coverage, What’sUpNewp is diving deeper into local high school and college sports. To do so, photographer Justin Walker has joined our contributing team. Justin Walker is a Newport County native who has over a decade of experience starting in college covering high-profile events and collegiate and professional sports in Washington, D.C.

Justin’s first story is up – Girls Soccer: Middletown defeats Tiverton 7 – 1. We look forward into diving into more local sports and having Justin as part of our team.

As always, your feedback and ideas are welcome for coverage. Email me at ryan@whatsupnewp.com.
