Newport City Hall

Thank you, Newport Ward 2 residents, for your support in this election. Voting is one way we shape the future of our community, and I know the decision of who to trust with your vote is not one that is made lightly. I am honored and grateful to be the councilor-elect for Ward 2.

I ran for council to take bold action for a livable future for all Newporters. The vision of a livable future is one that centers our community over any single person, including myself. Caring for our community has been my focus during the campaign, and it will remain my focus as a councilor. I deeply value the faith that Newporters have put in me to be their voice, and I promise to represent you with honesty, transparency and integrity.

Thank you to everyone who supported me with their time, input and ideas. I could not have run a campaign focusing on our community without the support of our community. I hope to hear from all of you, even and especially when we disagree. Open dialogue and clear process are how we make progress where there once was frustration or apathy. As I enter this term, I know the work will not be easy, but I also know it will be worth it. I hope you will share in this work with me to shape a future where we all thrive.

A vision of a livable future for all Newporters can be a reality if we work together. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow councilors, the School Committee and residents across the city to build that future. Thank you, Newport, for trusting me with this responsibility for the next term.
