Providence Restaurant Weeks celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend, running July 26 through August 8 with nearly 80 participating restaurants offering prix fixe menus, lunch and dinner specials, seasonal dishes, and creative drink offerings across Rhode Island.
The event, presented by GoProvidence and sponsored by Navigant Credit Union, has grown from a summer promotion launched in 2006 into one of the region’s most anticipated food events. This year’s lineup includes new participants and menu items such as cocktail and mezze pairings from Marcelino’s, Suya Joint’s West African Experience, and smoothies and acai bowls from In the Pink.
“Since we began Restaurant Weeks in 2006, our dining scene has continued to evolve in exciting ways — from nationally recognized chefs to the city’s first food hall — and Restaurant Weeks is the perfect showcase of both new and classic,” said Kristen Adamo, GoProvidence president and CEO.
Participating restaurants span Providence, Bristol, Cranston, East Greenwich, East Providence, Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence, Pawtucket, Smithfield, Tiverton, Warren, and Warwick, as well as Seekonk, Mass.
A full list of participating restaurants and menus is at providencerestaurantweeks.com. Diners are encouraged to share their experiences using #PVDEats and #PRW.
