The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center (The JPT) is screening The Goonies this Sunday, March 24, at 2:00 pm.
The Goonies screening marks the start of The JPT’s Sunday family film series, which brings some of the most popular and iconic classic films to The JPT to provide a fun weekend activity for the whole family to enjoy. The Goonies screening will have special pricing and free cookies for all guests.
“The JPT is excited to provide our guests with a great weekend activity for the whole family to enjoy. Our Sunday family film series features some of our favorite classic movies that are just as fun and entertaining every time you watch them. The Goonies (Sunday, March 24)
The Goonies is an old-fashioned yarn about a band of adventurous kids who take on the might of a property developing company that plans to destroy their home to build a country club. When the children discover an old pirate map in the attic, they follow it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure but come up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way. The Sandlot (Sunday, April 14)
The Sandlot follows Scottie Smalls (Thomas Guiry) as he moves to a new neighborhood and manages to make friends with a group of kids who play baseball at the sandlot. Together, they go on a series of funny and touching adventures. The boys run into trouble when Smalls borrows a ball from his stepdad that gets hit over a fence. The Wizard of Oz (Sunday, April 21)
Celebrating its 85th birthday, The Wizard Of Oz tells the story of when a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) that needs a brain, a Tin Man (Jack Haley) missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who wants courage. The Wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton) to earn his help. For tickets and more information, click here.
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (Sunday, May 5)
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is the story of what happensafter a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott. Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, and the children decide to keep its existence a secret.
