Paul Nunes, co-owner of Newport Vineyards, educates guests on the property.

Settled on over 100 acres of farmland, family-owned and operated Newport Vineyards, celebrating 30 years in business, allows visitors the chance to experience farm-to-table dining, Sunday brunch, wine and cheese classes, live music, daily tours and tastings, and more. Open to all ages, the indoor marketplace and outdoor space give guests the chance to embrace every change of the seasons.

Idyllic views of well-maintained vines and lush greenery make for a serene scene as visitors are invited to enjoy local wine and food. Seasonal events held at Newport Vineyards, such as the Harvest Festival that took place today, feature fun activities and seasonal eats. The Harvest Festival encouraged guests to embrace autumn with activities like axe throwing and grape stomping, as well as delicious eats like cider-brined turkey legs.

Those who could not make it to the Harvest Festival this year can still book tastings and tours and enjoy farm-to-table dining, amongst other offerings. Newport Vineyards also hosts private events that can be booked in advance, such as weddings and corporate gatherings.

Daily tours take place at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm and include a tasting. The tasting consists of 4 different wines from a selection of over 20 options at the standing bar. Tours allow guests to ask any questions they might have regarding winemaking and the vineyard by a knowledgeable guide who delights in the chance to explain the process and the property. A logo wine glass, a $5 credit to use at the indoor marketplace, and enrollment in the Newport Vineyards Cru club incentive program for discounted wine cases is also included in the tour. Those interested are encouraged to book in advance.

Established in 1995, Newport Vineyards has been co-owned by brothers Paul and John Nunes for 25 years. John Nunes, Jr. serves as owner, vintner, and brewmaster, while Paul Nunes contributes as owner and vineyard manager. Paul also drives the harvester, which shakes and dislodges berries from the vine. Formerly a car dealership, Newport Vineyards was transformed into a winery by the father of John and Paul. The two brothers have built upon the legacy of their father’s vineyard, expanding and renovating the site into what it is today.

More information regarding the vineyard and reservations can be found on the Newport Vineyards website.
