As visitors return for weddings, vacations, weekends on the water, and everything that makes this part of Rhode Island so special, many also begin to imagine what it would be like to call this place home. That seasonal influx consistently brings new buyers into the market, and while inventory remains relatively limited, we’re beginning to see more opportunities emerge across a wider range of price points.

There’s no substitute for walking through a home in person. Photos and videos are helpful, but they can’t replicate the feeling of standing in a living room, seeing how the light comes through the windows, or getting a sense of the neighborhood. Whether you’re actively searching or simply trying to better understand today’s market, Open Houses remain one of the best ways to educate yourself and see firsthand what’s available.

Personally, myself and my colleagues will be hosting several great properties this weekend, including 8 Wabasso Terrace in Middletown, 19 & 19.5 Third Street in Newport’s coveted Point neighborhood, and 21 Russell Avenue in Newport. Each offers something a little different, whether you’re looking for a primary residence, an investment opportunity, or a place where family and friends can gather for years to come.

If you’ve been thinking about getting out to tour homes, this is a particularly good weekend to do it. Next weekend will likely be one of the quieter Open House weekends of the summer as many sellers and agents pause around the Fourth of July holiday. While Newport County will be busier than ever with visitors, barbecues, fireworks, and celebrations, the number of public showings is typically much lighter. If seeing a variety of homes is your goal, this weekend offers a much better opportunity.
