With its Animal Care & Adoption Center at capacity, the Potter League for Animals has launched its “Stars, Stripes & Second Chances” adoption event, offering 50% off adoption fees for all adult dogs and cats from June 26 through July 2.

The discount applies to all adult dogs and cats 6 months and older. The event, the organization said, is about more than reduced fees — it’s about creating space, with every adoption allowing the Potter League to welcome and care for the next animal in need.

“Right now, our Animal Care & Adoption Center is at capacity, and we have amazing dogs and cats of all ages, personalities, and sizes looking for loving homes,” said Kara Montalbano, director of marketing and community relations at the Potter League. “When someone chooses to adopt, they’re doing so much more than bringing home a new companion. They’re creating an opportunity for us to help the next animal that comes through our doors. That’s the ripple effect of adoption, and right now, we need our community’s help.”

The event runs June 26 through July 2 at the Potter League’s Animal Care & Adoption Center, 87 Oliphant Lane in Middletown. Prospective adopters can browse available pets at potterleague.org/adopt before visiting. Every adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and more, and the league’s standard adoption process applies.

Those unable to adopt can still help by sharing the event or making a donation to support the animals in the league’s care.

Established in 1929, the Potter League for Animals is Rhode Island’s most comprehensive animal welfare organization, serving thousands of animals each year through veterinary care, sheltering, adoption, training, education and community support programs.
