Newport County residents and visitors can choose from colonial walking tours, live music venues, farmers markets and outdoor activities throughout the week, with highlights including the Hellenic Fest, coaching weekend events and the annual George Washington Letter Reading.
The week features daily colonial Jewish walking tours at the Loeb Visitors Center, multiple farmers markets across the region and evening entertainment ranging from trivia nights to live music at venues like The Landing, Newport Craft and Ragged Island Brewing. Weekend highlights include the three-day Hellenic Fest at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, featuring Greek food and music, and “A Weekend of Coaching” with equestrian events at multiple venues.
Cultural offerings include the 78th Annual George Washington Letter Reading at The Old Colony House on Sunday, Newport Black History Walking Tours at Bowen’s Wharf, and film screenings at The JPT Film & Event Center. Outdoor enthusiasts can participate in yoga sessions at Third Beach, bird walks at Norman Bird Sanctuary, and the Newport International Polo Series on Saturday.
Public meetings scheduled throughout the week include town council sessions in Portsmouth and Tiverton, school committee meetings in Newport and Little Compton, and various municipal board gatherings across the county’s communities.
