Retro-Soul Artist Jill McCracken Headlines NIMFest 2025 at Newport’s King Park Gazebo on July 13th

The New England Music Organization, in partnership with North End Entertainment, will present Boston-based artist Jill McCracken at NIMFest 2025 with special guest Indira on Sunday, July 13 from 3–6 PM at the King Park Gazebo. The event is weather permitting.

McCracken is a retro-soul artist originally from western New York who now performs in Boston’s music scene. The artist works as a singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer. McCracken has received multiple Boston Music Award nominations over the past five years for Vocalist and Singer-Songwriter of the Year and won a New England Music Award for Soul/R&B Act of the Year.

The afternoon will begin with a performance by vocalist Indira, who has been featured on WPRI 12, Power 102.1 FM, and Channel 8 News in Indianapolis. Indira received the Dominican Youth Talent Award in 2022. The artist’s song “Good Thing,” released with Pat Van Dyke in January 2025, was featured on Apple Music editorial playlists and highlighted by CD Baby.

The 2025 NIMFest schedule includes Hawk in the Nest on July 20th, John McKenna on August 3rd, Diane Blue on August 10th, and Guess Method on August 24th.

NIMFest, short for Newport Independent Music Festival, is a summer concert series in Newport featuring local and regional artists. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees may bring blankets and lawn chairs. Organizers recommend carpooling due to limited parking. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. All concerts are scheduled for 3pm to 6pm weather permitting.
