The Spring market is officially in full swing here in Newport County. Last week, we saw 20 homes change hands in our community as published in the Rhode Island statewide MLS. There’s movement in every corner of the county, and buyers are out in full force. With the buyer pool expected to deepen with the seasonal increase in visitors, competition will continue to be a constant in our market. 

We’re seeing strong activity at the top of the market, with multiple closings over $2 million, as well as steady demand in more modest price ranges. In Newport, both single-family homes and condos are getting aggressively pursued and sellers are finding themselves in positions of success with an asset to sell.

That said, inventory is still very tight, and while buyers are active, they’re also savvy. Homes that come to market with a clear strategy, professional marketing, competitive pricing, and proper prep are the ones making it to the closing table fastest.
