The Newport Police Department is seeking public input as part of its voluntary accreditation process with the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC).
RIPAC assessors will visit the Newport Police Department on June 20, 2025, to review all aspects of the agency’s policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services.
During the evaluation, both agency employees and members of the public can share their thoughts with the assessment team by phone. Calls will be taken at (401) 845-5734 on June 20, 2025, between 11 a.m. and noon.
Phone comments are limited to 10 minutes and should focus on the department’s ability to meet RIPAC standards. You can review these standards at the Newport Police Department.
If you prefer to submit written comments, you can send them to Christine Crocker, Executive Director of RIPAC, at P.O. Box 7877, Cumberland, RI 02864, or by email at crocker.riapc@cox.net.
