🚨 You need to know

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center has announced the lineup for this summer’s Live from the Loading Dock Parkside summer concert series.

This annual series is free and open to anyone in Newport County. Performances
are held in the Pocket Park across from the Edward Street Entrance to the MLK Community Center. Food is provided. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.

Performances will be held inside the MLK Community Center in the event of inclement weather.

Live from the Loading Dock kicks off on Wednesday, June 18 and performances will repeat once monthly on Wednesdays. Four bands will be featured in the series this summer. The dates and acts are as follows:

  • June 18, 2025 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. : Chelley Knight and the Dope Things
  • July 23, 2025 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m: The Ravers
  • August 20, 2025 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m: Los Inocentes Del Rancho
  • September 24, 2025 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m: Toe Jam Puppet Band

Newport Vineyards is marking its 30th anniversary with a lineup of events that highlight its journey from a small vineyard to a top-tier destination.

Join the City of Newport for the next edition of its Community Office Hours, hosted in partnership with the Newport Public Library, today from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Newport City Council will host a workshop on the Open Meetings Act with a representative from the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
