Newport Vineyards is marking its 30th anniversary with a lineup of events that highlight its journey from a small vineyard to a top-tier destination.
The Middletown winery, started by brothers John and Paul Nunes in 1995, now spans over 100 acres of sustainably farmed land. It’s grown to offer estate-grown wines, farm-to-table dining, a craft brewery, and a wedding venue.
“We are honored to celebrate this journey with our loyal guests, hardworking team, and the local community who helped build Newport Vineyards into what it is today,” said co-founder John Nunes. “Our mission has always been rooted in sustainable farming, exceptional hospitality, and sharing our passion for wine and food.”
The anniversary kicks off with the Tank Patio season opening on May 23, featuring wine tastings, dining, and live music throughout the weekend.
To mark the occasion, Newport Vineyards has planned several special events. These include a monthly “30% on 30th” discount on wine cases, a “Cheers to 30 Years” Seafood Sunday Supper in June, and a VIP History Tour and Tasting with owners and winemakers in August.
30th Anniversary events will include:
- May 30th: “30% on 30th” discount on wine cases each month, starting with their flagship wine, the Great White (and Great White Rosé)
- June 29th: “Cheers to 30 Years” Seafood Sunday Supper paired with the inaugural white wines
- July 11th: Annual Fire Dinner, culinary experience by the vines, featuring legacy wines
- August 8th: VIP History Tour and Tasting with Owners and Winemakers
- October 19th: Cheers to 30 Years Harvest Festival
In 2015, the winery underwent a major renovation, adding a farm-to-table culinary program with an on-site garden and greenhouses. The launch of Taproot Brewing Co. in 2018 further expanded its offerings.
Newport Vineyards now produces nearly 30,000 cases of estate-grown wine each year.
The winery remains committed to sustainable farming practices and preserving farmland. It offers a range of experiences for visitors, from wine tastings to weekly beer releases and seasonal live music events.
