Four people were arrested and 24 citations issued during a multi-agency law enforcement operation at the 2026 Aquapalooza event held Saturday at Potter’s Cove, the Portsmouth Police Department announced Monday.
Officers arrested Robinson Alves, 23, of Fall River, Mass., and Justin Taymes, 39, also of Fall River, each on charges of operating a watercraft while intoxicated. Anthony Gabriel, 21, of Dighton, Mass., was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer in the execution of duty, and Jake McCann, 33, of East Greenwich, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
One of the largest boating events on Narragansett Bay, Aquapalooza draws a significant law enforcement presence each year. Officers focused on impaired operation, reckless boating, and safety violations throughout the event.
Participating agencies included the Warwick, Bristol, and Providence police departments, the Rhode Island State Police, the Department of Environmental Management, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Portsmouth Fire Department.
