The Newport Beer Run—formerly the Craft Brew Races—is a timed 5K road race on July 20, 2024, followed by an unforgettable craft beer festival inside the walls of Fort Adams.
A portion of the proceeds from the Newport Beer Run will be donated to the Rhode Island Brewers Guild to support craft beer and brewing growth in Rhode Island. Gray Matter Marketing produces the event.
The Newport Beer Run course is a 3.1 mile/5K run (or walk) around Fort Adams State Park. The run is timed, with all finishers receiving a custom-designed finisher medal. Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females and the fastest and largest teams. The beer festival will take place on the parade grounds at Fort Adams. The festival will feature local and regional craft breweries and music and food vendors. Designated driver and festival-only tickets are available.
The festival will feature approximately 40 local and regional breweries, including Grey Sail Brewing, Ragged Island Brewing, Whalers Brewing, Narragansett, and Six Pack Brewing. Gluten-free options will be available from some breweries.
The 5K starts at noon, with the festival gates opening at 12:30 p.m. Festival tickets include beer sampling, live music, vendors, and food trucks selling onsite. All designated driver ticketholders receive a different bracelet at registration and are welcome to enjoy the festival, designated snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Upon their departure, everyone who comes to the festival will receive a souvenir pint glass.
