The Boat House will close after dinner service on Saturday, Oct. 3, for interior and exterior renovations, and plans to reopen in late spring 2027.
The biggest changes are outside. The north patio will get expanded water-view seating and a new bar overlooking Mount Hope Bay, and the south patio will gain seating and an awning. Inside, the dining room and bar are being refreshed.
The restaurant at 227 Schooner Drive opened as a seasonal spot on the Sakonnet in 2005 and went year-round in 2007.
“As we celebrate our 21st year, we’re beyond excited to offer our guests an enhanced and reimagined experience,” said Nicole Christie, regional manager for Newport Restaurant Group, which owns the restaurant.
Newport Restaurant Group gift cards remain usable at the company’s other properties while the Boat House is closed, including J.T. Commons in Middletown and Waterman Grille in Providence.
