The 2018 Newport Flower Show, themed Cottages: Smart & Small, will take place at Rosecliff from Friday, June 22 through Sunday, June 24, 2018. America’s premier summer flower show will celebrate the tiniest of homes, which are smart in both technology and style; their adjacent gardens are equally thoughtful, livable spaces, both functional and beautiful.
Newport Flower Show highlights include the Opening Night Party presented by Loren Hope and Randall Poirier/Independence Financial Partners on Friday, June 22, including an appearance by lifestyle maven Martha Stewart; Dinner & A Movie presented by Brooks Brothers, including a film viewing of “This Beautiful Fantastic” on Saturday, June 23; Afternoon Tea Reception on Friday, June 22; Champagne & Jazz Brunch on Sunday, June 24; a Lecture Luncheon with Brooklyn-based floral designer Sachi Rose Pollard on Friday, June 22 and a book-signing with Martha Stewart on Saturday, June 23. Additionally, award-winning botanical artist Sarah Boynton will exhibit 25 of her pieces in the dining room of Rosecliff throughout the weekend, featuring jewelry, accessories, and beyond – all made entirely of plant material to create a stunning display.
The front lawn of Rosecliff will be transformed into a “neighborhood” of Tiny Houses on wheels. Each tiny house will be staged with a garden gate or arbor, a patio area, and an extensive container garden, each of a different color scheme/style to coordinate with the character of the tiny house. Rhode Island-based The Tiny Traveling Theatre will also provide the setting for 15-20-minute free pop-up lectures and demonstrations by noted plant experts, flower designers and gardeners on the front lawn throughout the weekend.
