Newport Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Tyquan Johnson, date of birth January 14, 2007, in connection with the double shooting that occurred July 19 in the Park Holm area near Truman Road, and are also seeking to identify a second individual connected to the incident.
Johnson is wanted on charges of felony assault with a firearm and firing in a compact area. Police consider him armed and dangerous. His last known address is 504 Concord Drive, Hampton, Va.
As previously reported, two Newport residents — ages 22 and 25 — suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their lower extremities in the July 19 incident near Truman Street and Rosedale Avenue. Police have characterized the shooting as a targeted, isolated incident.
