Newport Partnership for Families has hired Lindsay Cutler as its new executive director, the organization announced Tuesday.
Cutler will lead the 25-member partnership of nonprofits, faith-based organizations, businesses and municipal groups focused on improving the lives of residents in Newport and surrounding areas.
She joins the organization at a time when its nonprofit members and the people they serve face cuts in funding and services, according to the partnership.
“Through my statewide work, the times I spent meeting with Newport partners left me incredibly impressed by how effectively this community works together on a local level,” Cutler said. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with our partners to strengthen opportunities and resources for families in Newport and Middletown.”
Cutler previously served as community programs manager for the Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness, where she guided statewide programming that brought together stakeholders to improve Rhode Island’s homeless response system. She has experience working across the housing field, from smaller advocacy organizations to large providers.
“Lindsay joins NPFF at a critical time and brings the right mix of compassion for our issues and a proven track record of successfully developing and maintaining meaningful partnerships,” board president Jamoya Ridgell said.
Newport Partnership for Families has supported its members since 1991 through collaborations focused on basic human needs, early learning, grade-level reading, behavioral health and workforce development. The organization has brought millions of dollars in federal, state, municipal and private foundation grants to nonprofits, schools and municipalities in Newport and Middletown.
