The Preservation Society of Newport County has announced tickets are now on sale for its annual Halloween and holiday celebrations at the Newport Mansions.
Trick or treat at The Breakers
Halloween Trick or Treat at The Breakers returns Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25, with admission in two sessions each evening at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to come in costume. There will be treats and prizes for everyone, and children younger than 2 are admitted free. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center food pantry.
Tickets are available at www.newportmansions.org/events/halloween-2025.
Holidays at the Newport Mansions
Beginning Nov. 21, Holidays at the Newport Mansions will bring seasonal decorations to The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms and Chateau-sur-Mer.
The four National Historic Landmark houses will feature nearly 30 Christmas trees decorated to complement each room’s décor and theme, along with hundreds of poinsettias, garlands, wreaths, fresh floral arrangements and other holiday decorations.
The family favorite 15-foot-tall poinsettia tree in the Great Hall of The Breakers — made up of 150 poinsettia plants — will return. A mailbox for letters to Santa Claus will be available in The Breakers Welcome Center, and gift stores at The Breakers, Marble House and The Elms will be open for holiday shopping.
For more information, visit www.newportmansions.org/events/holidays-2025.
Sparkling Lights at The Breakers
For the sixth consecutive year, Sparkling Lights at The Breakers will feature a half-mile outdoor path of glittering lights and colorful displays accompanied by holiday music.
Twenty-five thousand more lights will be added this year. The south parterre garden will feature an illuminated pergola and a display that suggests a water fountain. Guests can warm up at fire pits and purchase holiday treats and adult beverages on the back terrace and at The Breakers Welcome Center.
Admission to Sparkling Lights at The Breakers requires a special ticket with a specific date and entry time, and includes interior access to The Breakers during the same visit. Tour times are 4, 4:30, 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. The gates close at 6:30 p.m. and the house and grounds close at 8 p.m.

Holiday dinner dance
The Holiday Dinner Dance returns to The Breakers on Saturday, Dec. 20, featuring a four-course dinner in the Great Hall and Dining Room, followed by dancing in the Music Room. The black-tie event is sold out.
All Newport Mansions properties are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24.
The Preservation Society of Newport County thanks its Partners in Preservation — BankNewport, Bartlett Tree Experts and Grande Masonry — for their ongoing support.
