Fresh off sold-out concerts in June and August and a recent “Best of Rhode Island 2025” recognition by Rhode Island Monthly Magazine, Puddingstone Music will present award-winning violinist Lun Li in an intimate performance at Belmont Chapel.
“A Long Walk Through the Night” is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7, from 3 to 5:30 p.m., marking the kickoff of the organization’s next concert series.
Li will perform on both baroque and modern violins, featuring compositions by Bach, Bartok, Bononcini, Eccles, Glass, Matteis and Tessa Lark. The violinist has built a reputation for creating thought-provoking, boundary-pushing concert experiences for international audiences.
The performer’s accolades include first prize in the 2021 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society Prize. He was named John French Violin Chair at YCA and recently won first prize jointly at the Lillian and Maurice Barbash J.S. Bach Competition.
Li made his New York City recital debut at Merkin Concert Hall and his Washington, D.C., recital debut at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater. He made his concerto debut at Lincoln Center last season.
The concert will also feature three paintings by London-born artist Alastair Dacey that complement the repertoire’s theme of perpetual motion and timelessness. The visual art is designed to invite audiences to experience dynamic flow and movement as their eyes travel across the canvases.
