The 18th annual Newport Show raised a record amount for the Newport Historical Society and Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County during its three-day run at St. George’s School last weekend.

The exhibition of art, antiques and design has now generated $4.75 million for both nonprofit organizations since the show’s inception in 2007.

“The Newport Show has become a perennial highlight of Newport’s summer season, featuring stunning displays and engaging donors who care deeply about our giving back to this community,” said Anne Hamilton, chair of The Newport Show and secretary of the Newport Historical Society Board of Directors.

The show opened Friday, July 25, with an exclusive Gala Preview Party and continued through Sunday, July 27. Nearly 40 dealers and galleries participated, including six first-time exhibitors.

This year’s edition featured a Newport Historical Society-curated exhibit titled “The Summer of ’25: Sun, Sports, Spectacle,” which examined the defining characteristics of Newport’s summer season in 1925.

“The Newport Show makes the heritage of Newport and Aquidneck Island a tactile experience — history that you can see, touch, and feel,” said NHS Executive Director Rebecca Bertrand. “I always feel a deep sense of community pride during the show, knowing the local impact this event has had over the past two decades.”

Mary Lou Cavanaugh, board chair of the Boys & Girls Club, praised the event’s impact on local youth.

“We could not be more appreciative of the generous philanthropy that The Newport Show brings to our organization, alongside our partners and friends at the Newport Historical Society,” Cavanaugh said. “This event makes a tangible difference in the lives of Newport County’s youth.”

The 2025 show was sponsored by Audrain Hospitality, Corrigan Financial Inc., Bank of America Private Bank, BankNewport, Horan Building Company and Kirby Construction. Franklin & Company Design Associates and Meg Braff Designs served as presenting sponsors of the Gala Preview Party.

Additional supporting sponsors included Newport Lamp & Shade Company and Dekay & Tate interiors, while media sponsors were American Fine Art Magazine, Incollect Magazine, New England Home and The Public’s Radio.

The Newport Historical Society, founded in 1854, operates six properties and maintains extensive collections spanning five centuries. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County has served the community since 1956, providing programming for youth ages 5-18 and serving more than 5,500 people annually.
