The 2025 Hall of Fame Open concluded Sunday with American players capturing every title in a historic sweep at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, marking the first time in over 35 years that a women’s professional singles champion was crowned on Newport’s storied courts.

Caty McNally delivered the day’s most dramatic performance, staging a remarkable comeback to defeat top-seeded Tatjana Maria 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 for her second WTA career title. The 23-year-old American found herself down a set and facing the world No. 45, but her defensive tenacity proved decisive as she capitalized on 75% of her break point opportunities to overcome Maria’s superior serving.

The triumph marks McNally’s first WTA-level crown since November 2022 at Midland, capping off what proved to be a breakthrough week for American tennis in Newport.

Zachary Svadja continued his momentum-building 2025 season by claiming his first Newport title, defeating former 2023 Hall of Fame Open champion Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 6-3. The 22-year-old American needed just under 90 minutes to secure his fifth career Challenger title and first at the 125 level, converting four crucial break points to neutralize Mannarino’s service game.

The doubles competitions featured equally compelling American storylines. The Corely Sisters — Ivana and Carmen — captured their first career WTA-level title by defeating No. 3 seed Arianna Hartono and Prathana Thombare 7-6, 6-3. The University of Oklahoma duo dominated throughout the week, posting the tournament’s highest service games won percentage at 83.78% and leading in both first and second serve winning percentages.

The day concluded with wildcards JJ Tracy and Robert Cash finally claiming their first Newport title after falling in last year’s doubles final. The 2024 NCAA National Champions from Ohio State defeated Hans Hach Verdugo and Cristian Rodriguez 7-6, 6-3 for their seventh career Challenger title since graduating last May.

Fresh off a heartbreaking three-set loss at Wimbledon the previous week, Tracy and Cash delivered a commanding performance at the Hall of Fame Open, winning more than 70% of service points and saving all four break points they faced.

The packed Center Court crowd witnessed tennis history as American players swept all four professional titles at one of the sport’s most prestigious venues. The tournament’s return of women’s professional tennis to Newport after more than three decades provided a fitting backdrop for McNally’s breakthrough moment and the continued rise of American tennis talent.

Summer tennis at the International Tennis Hall of Fame continues in August when Maria Sharapova and Bob & Mike Bryan will be inducted during a three-day celebration from August 21-23, featuring the Hall of Fame Celebrity Pro Classic presented by Fidelity Investments, the Induction Ceremony, and a live concert with Fitz and the Tantrums.
