Between March 24 and March 28, just 13 residential properties sold across Newport County, including homes in Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth, and Tiverton. These sales ranged from a $2.3 million home on Peckham Avenue in Middletown to a $390,000 condo in Newport.

Statewide, there were only 134 total trades published in the MLS during that same week. That number really puts things in perspective. Inventory remains incredibly limited, and as we enter what’s typically the busiest time of the year for real estate, buyers are feeling the pressure with historically low options. 

Homes that are priced right and well-presented are moving quickly, often with multiple offers. For buyers, that means competition is steep. And with such limited opportunity, we’re not seeing any signs that prices will adjust anytime soon. Until more homes hit the market, this supply-and-demand imbalance is likely to continue.
