Classical High School’s Purple varsity football team dominated Rogers High School Vikings 56-22 in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division 3 semifinal on Saturday.

The home playoff game in Providence saw Classical’s offense firing on all cylinders against their Newport rivals.

With this win, Classical advances to the Division 3 championship game set for Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. in Cranston Stadium. They’ll face Ponaganset, who beat Pilgrim 32-16 in the other semifinal match.

Rogers High School went 5 – 2 in the regular season and 1 – 1 in the playoffs. Rogers will finish the 2024 season with a Thanksgiving matchup versus Tiverton at 10:15 am on Thursday, November 28.
