The Museum of Newport Irish History is offering two tours of a historic Irish cemetery this October.

Set for October 6 and 20 at 12:30 pm, these tours explore the resting places of Irish immigrants who made Newport their home around 1828.

Local researcher and guide Steve Marino will lead visitors through the cemetery, sharing stories and insights along the way.

While the tours are free, you’ll need to reserve a spot. The meeting point is at the corner of Barney and Mt. Vernon Streets, close to Washington Square in Newport.

The Museum of Newport Irish History restored the cemetery in 1998-1999. Today, it’s maintained through the efforts of volunteers and financial support from museum members.
