Jack Fallon from Jamestown is one of more than 620 cadets and students across the country who received gold stars for their academic achievements this spring, according to a press release from The Citadel.
The Citadel is a military college located in Charleston, SC. Enrollment is not required to serve in the military, but about one-third of each class does. Cadets who receive gold stars are placed on the Dean’s list.
To receive a gold star, cadets must achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher.
“Those cadets may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. A gold star recognition certificate is awarded to non-cadet students who meet the requirements; veteran and active duty students are also awarded challenge coins,” the press release states.
The Citadel, with its iconic campus located in Charleston, South Carolina, offers a classic military college education for young men and women focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction.
