The Newport County Board of Realtors has named Tyler Bernadyn its 2026 Realtor of the Year and Kim Fleming the recipient of its 2026 Gloria Slavens Award, the association announced.
Both awards are decided through nominations from the association’s members.
Bernadyn is the current president of the Newport County Board of Realtors and co-broker/owner of RE/MAX Results. The association said the award reflects his service to the organization and the real estate profession.
“Being named the 2026 Newport County Board of REALTORS® REALTOR® of the Year is an incredible honor, and I’m truly grateful for the recognition and the many people who have supported me along the way,” Bernadyn said in a statement released by the association.
Fleming was recognized for her involvement and service to the association, including her work with NCBR Charities.

“The work we do through NCBR Charities is truly a team effort,” Fleming said in the statement. “We have such a wonderful, dedicated committee, and being able to make a meaningful difference in our local community together has meant so much to me.”
The Gloria Slavens Award recognizes a member for professionalism, selflessness and dedication to giving back to the community, according to the association. It is named in memory of Slavens, a local Realtor who served as president of the Newport County Board of Realtors in 1981 and of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors in 1987.
Both recipients will be formally recognized at the association’s Annual Meeting & Installation on Oct. 21, where its incoming leadership will also be welcomed.
Disclosure: Tyler Bernadyn is a longtime contributor to What’sUpNewp.
