I have been a resident of Newport since the early 1960s and a homeowner on Kay Street, and I have witnessed the many challenges and changes our community has faced. I believe James Dring offers Newport an opportunity for thoughtful, responsible leadership.
James grew up in Newport and understands our community firsthand. His family’s deep roots here, strong educational background, and dedication to public service reflect his commitment to Newport’s future.
James understands the educational and economic challenges facing our city. He has consistently stood up for our schools and will address the structural issues affecting our roads, buildings, and public resources. He attends meetings and public forums, listens to residents, and works to find solutions.
Newport needs leadership that respects longtime residents while welcoming newcomers, protects our environment, supports equal rights, and encourages responsible development. James understands that progress requires listening, collaboration, and a willingness to tackle difficult issues.
I believe James will be a thoughtful, accessible voice on the City Council who puts Newport residents first and works to keep our city safe, prosperous, and a great place to live.
If you have not met James, I encourage you to speak with him about the issues facing Newport. I believe he is ready to take on these challenges with a positive outlook and a genuine commitment to our community.
Newport deserves leadership that listens and works toward a brighter future. I encourage you to support James Dring for City Council at-large.
