A waterfront home in Newport’s Historic Point neighborhood has sold for $3,400,000, the highest sale in the neighborhood since April 2024, according to Lila Delman Compass.

The property at 4 Van Zandt Ave., on a corner lot at Washington Street, sold for 13.3% above its asking price. Kara Malkovich of Lila Delman Compass’s Newport office and Kira Greene of Compass Providence represented the seller.

Built in 1925, the 2,463-square-foot Arts and Crafts-inspired Colonial has five bedrooms and three baths, hardwood floors and original architectural details, with views of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge. It includes a four-season sunroom, a first-floor primary suite with an accessible bathroom, four upstairs bedrooms, a basement workshop, a one-car garage and three off-street parking spaces.

Brokerage figures cited in the announcement are based on Rhode Island Statewide MLS data for the period from April 2024 through August 2026.
