UTIC is introducing a refreshed visual identity developed in partnership with Thomas Roskelly and Roskelly, Inc. (UTIC)

The Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium is marking its 10th anniversary with a refreshed brand identity, capping a decade in which the Middletown-based organization grew from a regional initiative into an internationally recognized consortium.

UTIC brings together government, industry, academia and nonprofit partners to move undersea technologies from concept to capability more quickly. The consortium says its collaborative model has contributed to more than $1.5 billion in undersea technology innovation impact while connecting thousands of organizations.

“Ten years ago, we set out to create an environment where collaboration could accelerate innovation,” said CEO Molly Donohue Magee in a statement. “What we’ve built together over the past decade has exceeded those early aspirations.”

Central to that work is UTIC’s role managing the U.S. Navy’s Other Transaction Authority consortium for undersea and maritime technology innovation, run in partnership with Advanced Technology International. The arrangement lets member companies work directly with the federal government outside traditional procurement timelines.

The consortium has also expanded beyond its original mission over the past decade. It launched an Undersea Tech Collaboration Database open to companies and organizations in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada; established a thought-leadership series; and created a scholarship program and workforce development challenges aimed at building a pipeline of undersea technology professionals.

The rebrand was developed with Roskelly, Inc., a Newport-area creative agency, and spans UTIC’s digital presence, communications materials, trade show exhibits and headquarters.

“This rebrand is about much more than a new look,” said Thomas Roskelly, creative director of Roskelly, Inc. “It’s about capturing the confidence, collaboration, and momentum that define UTIC today.”

UTIC is headquartered at Two Corporate Place, Suite 206, in Middletown. More information is at underseatech.org.
