The Wayfinder Hotel credit Read McKendree

Wayfinder Newport has partnered with Polaroid to offer guests a film camera to borrow during their stay, inviting them to explore the city through an analog lens rather than a phone screen.

The program, called Going Analog, launched today. Guests can check out a Polaroid camera at the hotel and use it throughout their visit; at checkout, they’re invited to leave one photo behind in the hotel’s guestbook. The experience is subject to availability.

To go along with the cameras, Wayfinder has created a Memory Menu — a photography guide suggesting spots around Newport worth pointing a lens at, including sunset toasts at Newport Vineyards, afternoons at Bowen’s Wharf, walks along Cliff Walk, beach picnics, vintage car cruises along coastal roads, and sailing on Narragansett Bay.

The partnership aligns with Polaroid’s current campaign, The Camera for an Analog Life, encouraging people to step away from their phones.

Wayfinder Newport is a boutique property on behalf of Dovetail + Co., designed in collaboration with New York firm Reunion Goods & Services. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, Little Clam, highlights Rhode Island farmers and fishermen, and its hand-painted pool was created by Rhode Island artist Sean Spellman.
