The Audrain Automobile Museum will mark America’s 250th anniversary with a Declaration of Independence Archive Day on Sunday, July 19, giving the public a rare chance to view historic Declaration of Independence documents from Rhode Island’s archives alongside one of cinema’s most iconic automobiles.
Admission is free from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will also feature live performances by the Newport Artillery Company and the Uxbridge Fife & Drum Corps, bringing Revolutionary-era military tradition to the occasion. On the automotive side, the museum will showcase one of only two 1965 Aston Martin DB5s commissioned for the James Bond film Thunderball, complete with demonstrations of the car’s famous movie gadgets.
The Audrain is located on Bellevue Avenue in Newport.
