Twenty properties changed hands across Newport County last week, continuing what has been the start to a steady summer market. While activity may quiet down a bit over the Fourth of July weekend (especially with the holiday falling on a Saturday and people focused on fireworks, food, and festivities instead), this is often a natural pause before buyers and sellers refocus on the remainder of the summer season.
On a personal note, last week was especially meaningful. I had the privilege of helping three different clients close on homes in Middletown, each with a story that I felt compelled to share.
Congratulations to David on the purchase of 11 O’Donnell Road. After a search that spanned more than 2 years, we found a home that allows him to be close to his parents in a neighborhood he values, and gives him a place where he can make his own and enjoy life with his family. It was an honor to be part of that journey.
Congratulations as well to Kyle and MJ on their purchase of 429 Forest Avenue. Kyle grew up in Middletown, and it’s exciting to see them return home to raise their own family just minutes from where he was raised. There is something special about coming full circle.
And congratulations to Alyssa and Matt, who purchased 14 Barton Lane. They secured the space they need for their growing family at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, and I know this home will be the backdrop for many wonderful memories in the years ahead.
These transactions are a reminder that every closing represents more than a sale. Behind every property is a family, a goal, a new beginning, or the closing of an important chapter. That perspective is something I try to carry into every client relationship.
As we move further into the summer market, buyers and sellers alike have an opportunity to reposition themselves for what are traditionally some of the strongest weeks of the year. Inventory remains limited, demand continues to be healthy, and preparation remains the key to a successful outcome.
