People’s Credit Union has donated $5,000 as the lead sponsor of the Good Dad Gang’s annual charity golf tournament, the credit union announced.

The Good Dad Gang x Sean Foley Invitational will be held July 28 at Fall River Country Club in Massachusetts. PGA golf instructor Sean Foley will serve as the special guest and keynote speaker, according to People’s Credit Union. Proceeds will support the nonprofit’s annual backpack giveaway.

“Good Dad Gang’s backpack giveaway does something simple and powerful; it helps families thrive, and strong families build strong communities,” said Sean Daly, head of People’s Credit Union. “Kids do better when a parent is genuinely engaged in their lives. Good Dad Gang helps more fathers do exactly that, and that’s a mission worth backing.”

Good Dad Gang, founded by Daniel Carrillo, focuses on supporting fathers and families through advocacy, education and mentorship, according to the organization. Its backpack giveaway began more than a decade ago in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and has since expanded to Fall River in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs in each city.

“It has been an absolute pleasure teaming up with People’s Credit Union,” Carrillo said. “Their partnership on this year’s backpack giveaway reflects their dedication to giving back to the community and helping people in need.”
