The New England Music Organization presents the second annual NIMFest Songwriter Showcase this Sunday, July 26, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the King Park Gazebo, 125 Wellington Ave., featuring three of the region’s most compelling emerging singer-songwriters.
Sweet Petunia, the folk duo of Mairead Guy and Maddy Simpson — twice nominated for Boston Music Awards as Best Folk Act — will perform material from their debut album Foggy Mountain Mental Breakdown, released on Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records. Singer-songwriter Natalie Paige, a fixture of the Rhode Island music scene, joins the bill alongside bassist Zak Castle and drummer David Cuellar, playing new material and audience favorites. Rounding out the showcase is Lainey Dionne, a GRAMMY-considered songwriter and New England Music Award winner for Songwriter of the Year, whose songs have been featured on The Kardashians and Love Is Blind.
Admission is free. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs; the park is also accessible by kayak and paddleboard. Alcohol is not permitted. All concerts are weather permitting.
