Before Roger Federer receives what the International Tennis Hall of Fame calls the Ultimate Honor in Tennis this August in Newport, the Hall of Fame is releasing a six-part video series in which the Swiss legend narrates his own rise from a young player in Switzerland to one of the most celebrated athletes in the world.
The series, directed by Peabody and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Katie Walsh — whose recent credits include Simone Biles Rising on Netflix — began dropping this week on the ITHF’s YouTube channel and social media. New episodes will be released weekly through the 2026 Induction Celebration, scheduled for August 27-29 at the Hall of Fame on Bellevue Avenue.
The episodes trace Federer’s career milestones from his 2003 Wimbledon breakthrough to the 2022 Laver Cup, while also exploring his foundation work, global influence, and relationship with fans.
“Roger’s story extends far beyond his achievements on the court,” Walsh said. “It was a privilege to sit down with him and unpack the experiences, relationships, and defining moments that shaped his journey.”
Now in its seventh season, Road to Newport is a recurring ITHF series spotlighting inductees ahead of the annual ceremony. More information is at tennisfame.com.
