Memorial Day Weekend has arrived in Newport County, though Mother Nature may have slightly different plans than many of the visitors heading into town…
With a cooler, wetter forecast expected for much of the weekend, the beach chair and boat day may need to wait. But in a place like Newport County, there’s always another way to spend the day, and this weekend may actually be a great opportunity to explore the local real estate market and start projecting what life here could look like long term.
From a market perspective, inventory still remains relatively tight overall, but we are beginning to see signs of opportunity building as we head toward summer. Historically, the weeks following Memorial Day tend to bring more activity to the market. Sellers who may have been on the fence through the spring often begin preparing homes for summer exposure as the buyer pool deepens, the weather improves, and visitor traffic increases throughout Newport County.
This weekend alone there are several interesting opportunities on the market, including a unique condominium offering in Jamestown where a newly developed 19-unit complex is being sold as individual residences. We’re also excited to introduce my newest listing in Newport’s Historic Point neighborhood, 19 & 19½ Third Street.
