The Newport Gulls have announced their 2026 Hall of Fame Induction Class, with a special ceremony set for Saturday, July 18, at Historic Cardines Field.

The induction will headline the Gulls’ 25-year anniversary celebration weekend, which is expected to bring former players back to “The Nest.”

The 2026 class of players includes Troy Dixon (2016), Ben Roberts (2013-2014), Dan Mahoney (2009), Mike Tamsin (2008), Adam Wilk (2007), Chase Reid (2008) and Yale Rosen (2012).

Three contributors will also be honored for their service to the organization: longtime head trainer and physical therapist Norm Provost, the Gulls’ first head coach Carmen Carcone and former Newport Mayor Richard Sardella.

“This year’s class represents an outstanding group of players and contributors who have left a lasting legacy with the Newport Gulls and the Newport baseball community,” Gulls General Manager Chuck Paiva said. “We are honored to recognize their achievements and celebrate their impact on July 18th at Cardines Field.”

Fans, alumni and members of the community are invited to attend. Additional details about the 25-year anniversary reunion weekend and the induction ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Newport Gulls, members of the 13-team New England Collegiate Baseball League, are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded as the Rhode Island Gulls in 1998 in Cranston before moving to Newport in 2001. The predominantly volunteer organization has contributed more than $1 million to the community since 2001 through summer camps, reading programs, fundraisers, scholarships and charitable donations.

The Gulls are eight-time NECBL champions, the winningest franchise in league history, and were ranked the No. 1 overall summer collegiate baseball team in the country by Perfect Game USA in 2012.
