In a rematch that lived up to its billing, Lincoln School held on to defeat Tiverton 50-47 Thursday night at the Amica Mutual Pavilion to claim the Division 2 title in a game that came down to the final seconds.
Tiverton jumped out to a 20-11 halftime lead, with Jah’niece Branch scoring six of her game-high 16 points in the first half. But Lincoln mounted a furious comeback in the third quarter, outscoring Tiverton 16 points to close the gap to 30-27 heading into the fourth.
Alivia Harris was the catalyst for Lincoln’s rally, finishing with 14 points — 10 of them in the fourth quarter — as the teams traded baskets down the stretch before Lincoln secured the three-point victory.
Sara Poland added 11 points for Tiverton, while both Tori Murray and Cami Oliveira chipped in eight points apiece in a losing effort.
