newportFILM will host a screening of “Natchez,” winner of the 2025 Tribeca Festival Award for Best Documentary Feature, at Rosecliff on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The evening combines documentary film, a post-screening panel discussion and the organization’s annual raffle reception, which includes a chance to win a New York City weekend getaway to see the Tony Award-winning Broadway comedy “Oh, Mary!”

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a raffle reception in Rosecliff’s grand setting. Guests can enjoy small bites from Russell Morin along with wine and beer. Each attendee receives one complimentary raffle ticket with admission, with additional tickets available for purchase.

The screening of “Natchez” begins at 7 p.m. The critically acclaimed documentary offers a portrait of a Southern tourist town at a crossroads, following historic homeowners, activists and tour guides as they tell competing versions of the past and clash over who gets to tell America’s story.

A post-film conversation at 8:30 p.m. will feature Rebecca Bertrand, executive director of the Newport Historical Society; Akeia de Barros Gomes, director of the Edward W. Kane & Martha J. Wallace Center for Black History at the Newport Historical Society; Trudy Coxe, CEO and executive director of the Preservation Society of Newport County; and Benedict Leca, executive director of the Redwood Library & Athenaeum.

The raffle winner will be drawn at the evening’s conclusion. The prize package includes two nights at the Park South Hotel in NYC, tickets to “Oh, Mary!” in January, and a $500 American Express gift card.

Rosecliff is located at 548 Bellevue Ave.

Tickets are $75. For tickets and more information, click here.
