Rite-Solutions will donate $19,300 to two community food banks following its annual “Rite Donation” campaign in which employees raised $9,650 that the company matched dollar-for-dollar.

The MLK Community Center in Newport and Love Thy Neighbor Community Food Pantry in King George, Va., will each receive funds from the campaign.

“Support from Rite-Solutions employees and leadership helps us provide almost 1.4 million meals to our community — 20% more than the prior year,” said Alyson Novick, director of development at MLK Community Center.

The Newport-based community center relies heavily on private donations, with only 2.5% of its funding coming from federal, state and municipal governments, according to Novick.

“Support from companies like Rite-Solutions makes our work possible,” Novick said. “We are so grateful.”

The MLK Community Center offers holiday meal assistance at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Year-round, the center provides daily hot breakfast and hot lunches three times per week.

“We are pleased to give back to two communities where we live and work,” said Jim Lavoie, Rite-Solutions chairman and co-founder. “Perhaps, more importantly, we are proud of our thoughtful, caring and generous employees. They always do the ‘Rite’ thing.”

Rite-Solutions, based in Middletown, specializes in system engineering, software development, information technology and cybersecurity for government and commercial clients. The company has offices in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
