Newport Classical will present four holiday concerts in December, with tickets going on sale Monday, Oct. 7, the organization announced Wednesday.

The series features two programs: Classical Christmas with Frisson and Messiah at the Mansion.

Frisson, described as “the classical group that does it all,” will perform Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. The program includes selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, Vivaldi’s Winter, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 and Carol of the Bells.

Messiah at the Mansion will take place Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Rosecliff, 548 Bellevue Ave. The performance features Handel’s oratorio with Rhode Island vocal ensemble Ensemble Altera and the Professional Choristers of The Choir School of Newport County. The concert is made possible through philanthropic support from Cynthia Sinclair for The Choir School of Newport County.

Tickets are available at newportclassical.org.

Newport Classical, founded in 1969 as Rhode Island Arts Foundation at Newport Inc., is the most active year-round presenter of live performing arts on Aquidneck Island. The organization presents concerts at historic venues throughout Newport and operates four core programs: the Music Festival, the Chamber Series, the Community Concerts Series and the Music Education and Engagement Initiative.

The 2026 Newport Classical Music Festival will take place July 2-19, 2026.
