A waterfront estate on Wellington Avenue sold for $14.48 million, according to Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty.

The property, known as Harbor Watch, sits on 2.7 acres overlooking Newport Harbor, Fort Adams State Park and the Newport Bridge. The shingle-style main residence contains 5,000 square feet of living space with five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, plus a three-car garage and 2,200 square feet of finished lower-level space.

A separate 2,000-square-foot guest cottage with three bedrooms includes its own gated entrance and garage.

“This sale highlights the strength of Newport’s luxury market,” said listing agent Michelle Kirby. “Harbor Watch offered the rare combination of sweeping views, privacy and proximity to downtown. Properties of this caliber, with both a main residence and guest cottage, are scarce and highly coveted.”

Michelle Kirby and Kate Kirby Greenman, both with Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty, co-brokered the transaction.

Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty announced the sale Tuesday. The company has operated for more than 90 years and became Sotheby’s first affiliate in 1976. The agency specializes in waterfront and luxury properties throughout Rhode Island, including Block Island, southeastern Connecticut and coastal Massachusetts.
