Newport County residents and visitors have an exceptional array of activities to choose from this weekend, with cultural celebrations, equestrian events, and historical programming taking center stage.

The three-day Hellenic Fest at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church runs Friday through Sunday, offering authentic Greek food and music. Meanwhile, “A Weekend of Coaching” brings equestrian enthusiasts together for competitions and demonstrations at multiple venues throughout the county.

Sunday features the 78th Annual George Washington Letter Reading at The Old Colony House, a longstanding Newport tradition that brings colonial history to life. Cultural offerings extend to new musical productions, with “Peripheral” opening Friday at Newport Classical Recital Hall and “Ink And Paint” premiering Saturday.

Outdoor activities abound with the Newport International Polo Series on Saturday, free guided bird walks at Norman Bird Sanctuary, and yoga sessions at both Third Beach and local vineyards. The weekend also includes multiple farmers markets, live music at venues across the region, and specialty events like the Fools Rules Regatta at East Ferry Beach.

Food and beverage enthusiasts can enjoy everything from vineyard lunches to the Ragged Island Block Party, while families have options ranging from flower picking at Island Community Farm to film screenings at The JPT Film & Event Center.
