NIMFest Newport
NIMFEST at King Park continues this weekend

Newport’s King Park Gazebo is gearing up for a summer of music as the Friends of the Waterfront Concert Series makes its return.

The New England Music Organization is hosting five free outdoor concerts at King Park from July to August.

Blues harmonica star James Montgomery is set to kick things off on July 11 from 5-7 p.m.

Organizers suggest, “Pack a picnic, grab a blanket or beach chair, and come enjoy some free tunes in one of Newport’s best-loved parks.”

The lineup continues with French lounge and swing act La Méchante et le Connard on July 18, followed by psychedelic R&B artist Melo Green on Aug. 8 and ambient pop/R&B group Pets on Aug. 15. These shows are all scheduled for 5-7 p.m.

To wrap up the series, there’s an Irish celebration featuring Turas and Rhode to Dublin on Aug. 30 from 4-6 p.m.

Given the limited parking, carpooling is encouraged. Please note that alcohol isn’t permitted in the park. All concerts are weather-dependent, with no rain dates planned.

This concert series is a collaborative effort among the Friends of the Waterfront, the New England Music Organization, and North End Entertainment, made possible by a generous donation from the Isham Family Fund.
