Aquidneck Island National Police Parade

The 40th Annual Aquidneck Island Police Parade will occur this Sunday (May 4).

The parade will honor three New England Police Officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2024, according to the Newport Police Department. 

This year’s Grand Marshall is Robert E. Kenahan, the oldest living retired Rhode Island State Trooper. The parade will start at the Hampton Inn and Suites (317 West Main Road) at 11:50 a.m.  

There will be no parking from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Broadway, Washington Square, Duke  Street, and Charles Street. Broadway through Washington Square will be closed starting at 11:00  a.m. and is expected to be open by 2:00 p.m.
