The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Newport County is gearing up for its “Arts Around the Fire” networking event, featuring key leaders from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA). Todd Trebour, RISCA’s Executive Director, and Sara Leonard, the newly appointed Deputy Director, will be on hand to share insights and answer questions.

Set for March 26, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., this free event will take place at Sardella’s Restaurant in Newport. Trebour and Leonard plan to discuss grant opportunities and programs available for artists, as well as arts and cultural organizations. They’re also ready to address concerns about the current funding challenges in the arts sector.

“Arts Around the Fire” brings together artists, writers, performers, and art enthusiasts to connect with peers, discuss issues affecting the cultural community, and learn about new artistic projects. It’s open to everyone, and there’s no need to make a reservation.

For those interested in getting more involved, the Alliance offers artist memberships and supporting memberships. As a coalition, they’re committed to boosting arts and culture throughout Newport County.
