Newport Police Department

Newport Police Department is holding a community meeting on March 31, 2025, to discuss public safety and speed camera enforcement.

The event will take place at Salve Regina University’s O’Hare Academic Building in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Chief of Police Ryan Duffy will lead a panel of senior officers to address community concerns and talk about enforcement strategies.

This meeting, required by City Council Resolution No. 2025-29, aims to get Newport’s South End residents involved in a conversation about local safety measures.

The panel includes:

  • Capt. Michael Naylor from the CID Division
  • Capt. Jason Kleinknecht from the Patrol Division
  • Capt. Kevin Moreira from the Administrative Division
  • Sgt. Jason Head, who oversees the Traffic Unit

Newport residents are invited to attend and share their thoughts on these community issues.
