Newport’s North End residents have a unique opportunity to shape their community’s art scene. The city is calling for input on a new mural design for a pump station at Hillside and Maple Avenues. This collaborative project between the Newport Utilities Department and a local artist aims to bring fresh creativity to the neighborhood.

Want to share your ideas? Head to www.CityofNewport.com/Mural and take the online survey. It’s open exclusively to North End residents, giving locals a real say in the project. As an added bonus, one lucky participant will snag a $100 gift certificate to Corner Cafe.

“We’re excited to hear what you think!” the city shared in a recent Nextdoor post. “Help us make this mural something special.” They’re keeping things flexible for now, with no set deadline for survey submissions or a fixed timeline for the mural’s completion.

This project is all about community involvement. It’s a chance for residents to leave their mark on Newport’s visual landscape and contribute to a piece of public art that will brighten up their daily commutes. So if you live in the North End, why not take a few minutes to share your vision? Your ideas could be the spark that brings this mural to life.
